"I brought in my father's old Seiko that had sat in a drawer for about twelve years. Prem explained what needed to be done before starting anything. Three weeks later it came back running properly, and the dial hadn't been touched — exactly as it was, which is what I wanted. The photos from each stage were a thoughtful addition."

"Good place. I had a light service done on a Tudor I wear regularly. They were upfront about what the service would cover and what it wouldn't — I appreciated that it wasn't oversold. Watch came back on time, running within spec. The workshop is easy to find on Thalang, and the staff are happy to answer questions."

"I was staying in Phuket for a few weeks and had been carrying my grandmother's watch — a small Swiss dress piece from the 1960s — intending to get it looked at. Rattana was recommended by someone at my guesthouse. The team took it seriously, which mattered to me. I had to arrange courier return to Bangkok and they helped coordinate that without fuss."

"Very pleased. My ETA-based diver had not been serviced in six years and was running badly. Full overhaul completed in about three weeks. They showed me the timegrapher reading before and after — a significant improvement. Clear pricing from the start; no surprises when I came to collect."

"Brought my husband's watch in — it had stopped and he was sentimental about it. The team was patient in explaining the issue and what the overhaul would involve. Took a little longer than the first estimate because of a part that needed sourcing, but they let me know promptly when that happened. Returned running well."

"A light service on a vintage Longines I picked up at a weekend market. I was not sure it was worth the attention, but the team assessed it and were honest that it would run well with just a clean and basic service. Good advice — and they were right, it kept time well afterwards."

Case studies

A few stories in detail

Case 01 — Inherited Pocket Watch

The situation

A client brought in a gold-cased pocket watch from the early 1950s that had belonged to her late grandfather. The movement had not run for over two decades, and the crystal was cracked. She was uncertain whether restoration was feasible given the age.

What was done

A full assessment confirmed the movement was sound. After discussion, the client chose a full overhaul with the case and dial restored to their original condition — not polished, but cleaned and stabilised. A replacement crystal was sourced to match the original profile. Seven weeks total, with photographs shared at each stage.

The outcome

The watch now runs within 90 seconds per day — reasonable for a movement of its age. The client described the experience as being able to hand something meaningful on to the next generation in working order. That was her goal, and it was met.

"I could not have asked for more care than they showed. Seeing the photographs at each stage made a real difference to me — I knew exactly what was happening to something I valued."

Case 02 — Daily Diver, Years of Neglect

The situation

A diver's watch worn daily for eight years without service. The movement had deteriorated significantly — it was losing around four minutes per day. The owner had continued wearing it in water despite concerns about the seals.

What was done

Full movement overhaul. Ultrasonic cleaning revealed corrosion on two components; replacement parts were sourced and agreed with the client before installation. Seals were replaced, gasket renewed, and the watch pressure tested to its rated depth on completion. Three and a half weeks including parts sourcing.

The outcome

Running within 8 seconds per day across six positions. Water resistance confirmed at 100m. The client has since established a regular service schedule, which we were glad to discuss and document for him.

"They were direct about the state of the movement — it needed more work than I expected, but nothing was done without me agreeing first. That kind of transparency is worth a lot."

Case 03 — Returning a Graduation Gift to Service

The situation

A client's dress watch, given to him at his university graduation in 1998, had stopped running after being stored for several years. He had not worn it since. He was concerned about the cost relative to the monetary value of the piece, but wanted it running again.

What was done

Initial assessment confirmed a movement overhaul was needed. The cost was explained honestly, alongside the reasonable expectation of how well it would run afterwards. The client decided to proceed. The service took just under three weeks.

The outcome

The watch was returned running well and the client wore it again the same week. He noted that understanding what the money was going toward — the disassembly, the cleaning, the lubrication, the measurement — helped him feel comfortable with the decision.

"It is running again. That is all I wanted. They explained everything along the way, which made the cost feel reasonable rather than uncertain."
